10 Must-Have Healthy Nuts and Seeds to Snack On

Did you know that nuts, especially raw nuts are healthy foods for your body and consuming a handful a day of nuts won’t cause weight gain? Nuts and seeds are protein, fiber filled goodies which help your heart, boost your energy and brain and help improve your digestion.

Nuts are rich in B vitamins and some nuts also contain vitamin E. Brazil nuts are the only nut which contains the mineral selenium known to boost your mood and help fight depression. Pistachio nuts are rich in the master antioxidant glutathione.

Health Tips:

You can eat roasted nuts, however when nuts and seeds are cooked at high temperatures they become carcinogenic. Raw nuts are safe to eat.

If you soak your nuts and seeds, they can be sprouted. After soaking leave the skins on as the skins have all the antioxidants.

You can dry them in a dehydrator, grind them and use them to make raw burgers, raw nut loaves, and/or raw pestos. You can also air dry.

With nuts and seeds you can make your own nut/seed butters. You can mix many different nuts/seeds together for a special taste treat. Almonds, walnuts or pistachio, sunflower and pumpkin seeds are a fave.
